Raising Voices. Demanding Change.

The climate crisis is not a distant threat—it's a daily reality for millions of Tanzanians. From floods in coastal regions to prolonged droughts in farming communities, the impacts of global warming are being felt here and now. But amid these challenges, a new wave of leaders is rising.

At EarthCare Foundation, we believe that young people are not just victims of climate change—they are the visionaries, the organizers, and the catalysts for real change.

That’s why our Climate Action & Advocacy program is designed to amplify youth voices, equip them with the tools they need, and create platforms where their ideas and concerns cannot be ignored.

šŸŒ Why It Matters

Climate change is more than just an environmental issue—it’s a threat to health, education, food security, and economic opportunity. And for the youth of Tanzania, it threatens their dreams, their futures, and their right to a livable planet.

Yet, despite bearing the brunt of the crisis, young people are often excluded from climate conversations and decision-making spaces.

That ends with us.

EarthCare Foundation is working to break that cycle—ensuring that youth are heard, included, and empowered to lead the charge toward climate justice.

šŸ”„ What We Do: Turning Passion into Action

Our Climate Action & Advocacy initiatives focus on creating bold, visible, and meaningful opportunities for youth to engage with climate solutions. Here's how:

✊ 1. Youth-Led Climate Strikes & Marches

We support youth organizers in planning and leading peaceful climate protests, awareness walks, and "Fridays for Future" style school strikes. These events:

  • Demand accountability from leaders
  • Raise awareness in local communities
  • Create media attention and pressure for action

We help young people understand their rights, navigate permits, create banners, and speak confidently about their message.

🧹 2. Public Clean-Up Events

From city streets to coastal beaches, we organize high-impact clean-up drives that:

  • Reduce plastic and urban waste
  • Engage hundreds of volunteers from schools and universities
  • Educate the public on proper waste management and recycling

Each event doubles as a call to action—turning trash collection into a powerful symbol of civic responsibility and climate care.

šŸ—£ļø 3. Policy Dialogues with Leaders

Youth deserve a seat at the table. We create platforms for dialogue between young people and local, regional, and national government leaders. These forums allow youth to:

  • Present local climate challenges
  • Propose grassroots solutions
  • Advocate for environmental policy reforms

By bridging the gap between citizens and decision-makers, we’re ensuring policies are informed by those most affected.

šŸ“² 4. Media & Digital Advocacy

Social media is a megaphone for change—and we’re using it to:

  • Spotlight youth-led initiatives and success stories
  • Share educational content on climate science and sustainability
  • Run digital campaigns around key dates like Earth Day, World Environment Day, and COP summits

We also collaborate with local radio stations and journalists to bring environmental stories to a wider audience.

šŸŽØ 5. Art, Music & Storytelling for the Planet

Climate action isn’t just about facts—it’s about feelings. That’s why we use creative expression as a tool for advocacy. We host:

  • Environmental poetry slams and spoken word nights
  • Climate mural projects in public spaces
  • Youth storytelling sessions that share local experiences with climate change

Through art and culture, we connect hearts and minds to the movement.

šŸ“ˆ Our Impact So Far

  • Over 2,000 youth mobilized through marches, strikes, and clean-ups
  • Hosted 15+ climate forums connecting youth with government leaders
  • Reached hundreds of thousands online through digital campaigns
  • Inspired dozens of schools and community groups to join climate advocacy efforts
  • Launched youth-led petitions and proposals on plastic bans, tree conservation, and green education policies

šŸš€ The Future Is in Our Hands

Young people have the creativity, energy, and urgency the climate movement needs. But they also need support—access to resources, mentorship, platforms, and protection. EarthCare Foundation is committed to providing all of that and more.

We’re not just teaching youth how to plant trees—we’re teaching them how to plant movements.
